Not the greatest news

Well, we did get some to test...though not many. We have 3 day 6 embryos and all three are average quality, 3BB. They are thawing and rebiopsying one from last cycle today. That means we have 3 or 4 going for testing. I am kind of bummed, though thankful that we have any for testing. I guess my eggs are really pretty poor quality, huh? Even with my good FSH, AMH, and the fact that I easily stimulate, I didn't get the best results. Its funny, I went into this very neutral but then started getting excited with the number we got, and the decent fert report and the fact that we had so many embryos to grow out....then I get a little crushed when so few get to a good quality blast stage. Ugh.

I'm sorry you didn't get more to test. But I will be hoping that you get a good crop of normals out of your bunch. This whole experience takes so much endurance. Ugh.

Oh the ups and downs of IVF! I really hope that the ones you got test really well.

Well, one thing we know for sure: it's not over until it's over and quality of the blast doesn't mean anything regarding normal. So you might very well have THREE normals there! That's what I'll hope for (you want triplets, right??)
Hang in there.

Oh honey. I'm so sorry you went from 15 down to three or four. The attrition rate is always what I find shocking and terrifying. I personally don't put too much stock into the grading that they assign to the embies...after all, I have a 4CB currently sleeping in the room next to me in addition to my 2/3. Neither were considered great by day 6 standards but they were both normal so all that matters is whether they are normal IMHO. Chin up - you're not out of this yet and you still have a great chance.

It only takes one. :)

Ugh, I hate the downs in IVF, they are such torture! Now the long wait to see if there are any normals. KayJay is right, 3BB doesn't mean anything, normal is normal. Hoping your sibling is in the batch. Hug on Teagan and get a good night sleep. Hugs

I'm so sorry! I'm glad you have some to test, and crossing my fingers that you get a great percentage of normals, but I know it's disappointing that it's not more.

Even when you start out neutral, I think it's very difficult not to get your hopes up at some point. I have an IRL friend who also got her results from CCRM a couple days ago (you must've been there at the same time). She also started out going into it without a lot of expectations, and invariably her hopes rose too. (And unfortunately the number she wound up with for testing wasn't as high as she had hoped, either.)

I think it's natural to want to protect ourselves from disappointment, but hope always sneaks in at some point along the way.

Your cycle sounds sooo similar to mine! I had 5 blasts to test - all 5 of them were day 6 2/3s. 2 of them were normal and we transferred both of them last week. I just got my first beta today - 358!! Don't obsess over the grades like I did - it will drive you crazy and for no good reason!!

Thinking of you.

With my first cycle I went in super optimistic and was crushed with the c/p. Then with my second cycle I was super optimistic because I was at the Great and Holy CCRM and then I was crushed that we only had six eggs fertilize and only two real blasts to test. Then with my third cycle I was a lot more grounded. I was hoping for the best but bracing myself for the worst - and it was my best cycle. Funny how these things are!
